Playground pathway and tarmac surfacing

The work
Ashburner Building Services Ltd constructed and surfaced a public pathway to improve pedestrian access to a children's playground in Angmering, West Sussex.
The team prepared and excavated the ground, installed and compacted the sub-base, and formed the path with edgings for a stable foundation.
Tarmac was laid and compacted to create a smooth, hard-wearing surface for pedestrians, pushchairs and wheelchair users. Levels and transitions were planned around the grassed areas and playground entrance.
The finished route provides durable access to the playground while fitting into the surrounding public green space.
